Why Give on #GivingTuesday

#Giving Tuesday was created to kick off the charitable season following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has leveraged social media and collaboration to inspire giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities.

The Healy Foundation has been fortunate these past few years to be in a position to provide grants for deserving college students. We would be nowhere without the generosity of our donors and fundraisers. Already this year, The Healy Foundation has benefited greatly from our supporters' giving money, time, and inspiration. We hosted our fifth annual fundraiser in Boston during the first weekend of November. A couple weeks after that event, Healy Foundation members ran half marathons in Charlotte, NC, and Los Angeles, CA. Combined these two events raised over $20,000 for scholarships.

Our Selection Committee is currently reviewing applications for the Spring 2017 semester. We have incredibly talented students who are experiencing a variety of challenges as they approach graduation. Please help kick off this giving season by making a donation to benefit our deserving students. Donate today and help us raise another $5,000 and crush our fundraising goals.

Dance-a-thon Fundraiser Recap

The Healy Foundation's 4th Annual Fundraiser was held on, Saturday, October 24th. We hosted a 12-hour Dance-a-thon in Los Angeles and New York City.

We were lucky to be joined by one of our former scholars, Matt Alfano '14. He expressed his gratitude to the Healy Scholarship Program and showed off some of his dance moves. Scholars Rob Stover and Joe Brady also joined via Skype to address the dancers.

Participants boogied through the decades and were treated to hours led by dance instructors, Kelly Gigliardi and Eric Beltrami. Rory Healy won a prize for dancing the longest (she never stopped moving!). Those unable to attend the dances were able to view them live on YouTube.

The Dance-a-thon was a great success, raising $18,741 for scholarships. We would like to extend a massive "thank you" to everyone who supported this fundraiser. If you were unable to contribute but would still like to, please visit our Fundly page:https://fundly.com/m2/dance-a-thon-1
